14. Look beyond the now

It’s easy for us to be stuck in a pattern and think about how mundane our life is. You feel that you’re not good enough, your life is not amazing enough or what you’re doing is not significant enough.

But many of us forgot that there is more beyond the now. We forgot that each routine we go through, each experience we add and each practice we do will add up. You might not be who you want to be now, but if what you do every day contribute to your personal growth, your life will absolutely change for the better.

That’s why it’s important to have something great to look forward to. Something you think you will and can be in the next 5 years. 10 years. 20 years. I, for example, am excited to run my own company, jump into acting and move to California.

These thoughts excite me. They give me the fuel to push forward. On the days I feel down, I will conjure that snippet of my future and tell myself, this is not all to it. My life is not fixed to this moment. I will grow and get better through what I do every day. My life will advance. I will accomplish amazing things. It’s just about time.

Sometimes, you need to take yourself out of the present to be able to fully live in the present. Be excited about your own future, so that you’ll be driven to make the most of today.
