42. Flyers and smiles

I have been doing on-ground marketing activations for my company these couple days. I had to engage and hand out flyers to passersby. It has been ages since I did that so it was uncomfortable at the start, But quickly, I’ve started paying close attention to how people reacted when I accosted them.

Many just strode by. May gave me “don’t bother me I’m so busy” look. Many look annoyed. But some people attempted to smile. Some said thank you with a big grin. Some even joked around with me.

Amidst many rejections, I got rejuvenated by the few genuine and kind responses. Even if they didn’t take my flyers or showed further interests, I feel great just by receiving their well-wishes.

And through these moments, I realized the power of smiling. How one smile can have such an impact on someone. It’s infectious. It makes you and the person seeing it happy.

So let’s all smile a little bit more. To ourselves, strangers and all the more to people we care for. All it takes is one twitch of your muscle, and it goes a long way t0 make someone’s day.
